DEZ I
"Our Lion Cometh"
Inspired by
the Most High, our lion - Desmond Boyd has come and is here to
stay! Affectionately re-named Jundu Tu Ka Ta (which signifies
"our lion cometh"), during a recent trip to Africa, Dez I has
triumphantly re-emerged onto the music scene with the
vigor of a roaring lion.
"Thanks for
Life" is the first official debut album by Desmond "Dez I" Boyd.
Produced by New Creation Records, the album is comprised of a
multi-cultural assortment of empowering, educational and
entertaining musical messages. " I've traveled and performed in
all parts of the world," says Dez I. "several people have
touched my life and inspired me in various ways. This album is
not only a testimony of those experienced, but also, an
opportunity to live up to the responsibility o the lion- the
leader of the jungle, and take people to higher heights - while
being thankful for the journey of life itself."
Dez I has
graces many stages both locally and internationally since he
impacted the scene. Among some of the places he has performed
are Jamaica, the Bahamas, the USA and the United Kingdom. He is
also gearing up for an international promo tour supporting his
album release.
Known, by
family and friends as determined, focused, persistent and
passionate, Dez I, is a talented entertainer, singer, and
songwriter - who can pen a complete song within minutes. Our
lion, Dez I is also characteristically sweet, understanding,
real, cautious and serious - "Ain't nobody who knows Dez I and
does not want to be a part of his life," shares Dez I.
This Jamaican
"griot" (story-teller) and extraordinary artist, Dez I, is
destined for success. It was made remarkably clear as he
confidently stated his purpose in 1999 at the Tastee Contest
finals: "mi nah stop "til mi get di trophy!" What judge could
resist that kind of determination... it was no surprise when he
was declared the winner of that competition. |
